Spinning from the Fold

So many folks want to know what spinning from the fold is, and I was
outside this afternoon spinning away, so I handed the camera to our
oldest boy, Christopher (6), and he snapped these for you!

Take a length of roving or top in your hands:

Break off a length a bit longer than the fibers themselves:

Fan that piece out a bit:

Fold it over your index finger:

And then pull some of the fibers from the fold near the tip of your finger
and begin drafting:

Ta da!
